The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs throughout the organization, and oversees risk ownership throughout business units, products, and processes.
The objective of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Process Risk Reduction team is to address identified systemic operational risks, to ensure the integrity and efficiency of business processes, and maintain the alignment of risk reduction efforts through well-executed risk mitigation and remediations activities.
Operational Risk Management (ORM) is looking for a Sr. Analyst of Process Risk Reduction to lead a diverse team of high-performing professionals focused on ensuring effective operational risk management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Sr. Analyst, Operational Risk Management (ORM) Process Risk Reduction will:
Assistwith BUs to identify systemic ORs and prioritize them based on their potential impact on the enterprise
Provide consultation on existing and new processes, focusing on design improvements to mitigate identified ORs
Regularly monitor the execution of controls within business processes and conduct reviews of the control inventory to ensure they are effective and aligned with risk appetite
Supportcross-functional efforts to ensure that process risk reduction activities are consistent and coordinated across the organization, leveraging best practices and innovative risk mitigation strategies
Communicate progress and effectiveness of risk reduction initiatives to senior management and ensure alignment with the enterprise risk framework
Required Qualifications:
1-2 Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and understands critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
Demonstrated history and ability to work in large teams, spread over geographies and with varying backgrounds
Excellent qualitative analytical skills
Project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior BU/tech counterparts
Proven expertise in process governance, with a track record of establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
Experience in at least one of the following:
oCoordinating with business units to identify systemic operational risks and prioritizing them based on potential impact;
oEnterprise priorities for proactive risk reduction and managing resources to effectively target interventions in high-risk areas;
oProviding consultation on exiting and new processes, focusing on design improvements to mitigate operational risks;
oMonitoring the execution of controls within business processes and conducting review of controls inventory to ensure effectiveness and alignment with risk appetite;
oLeading cross-functional efforts to ensure that process risk reduction activities are consistent and coordinated across the organization, leveraging best practices and innovative risk mitigation strategies
