About the position:
This position entails defining the data science strategy and overseeing the development of diagnostic analytics, predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytics solutions. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in data science and a proven history of delivering impactful data-driven solutions. The role will leverage advanced analytical and quantitative methods to examine organizational challenges and propose effective solutions. The role involves developing mathematical models, conducting simulations, and analyzing large datasets to support strategic decision-making processes. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Core team member to establish Data Science/ Operations research capability
Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to the organization's goals
Develop and apply mathematical models, simulations, and optimization methods to solve complex problems
Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant information and align analytical solutions with business objectives
Conduct cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and risk analysis for proposed strategies and changes
Recommend process improvements, resource allocation, and decision-making frameworks to enhance efficiency and productivity
Use software tools such as Python, R to implement solutions
Present findings and actionable insights through reports and presentations to management and stakeholders
Monitor and refine models based on real-world performance and changing business needs
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in optimization techniques, and relevant software tools
Present analytical findings and business insights to project managers, stakeholders, and senior leadership and keep abreast of new statistical / machine learning techniques and implement them as appropriate to improve predictive performance
Generates and leverages insights that inform future studies and reframe the research agenda. Informs both current business decisions by implementing and adapting supply-chain strategies through complex business intelligence

Basic Qualifications:
Educational degree/ certification in Data Science /Operations Research or a related field
Demonstrated experience in the field
Excellent analytical skills: ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions, including analysis specifications and models. Proficiency in mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, simulation, and data analysis
Partner with multiple teams to understand needs, gain agreement on key initiatives, and work to deliver models and data strategy
Experience in machine learning using Python (scikit / NumPy / pandas / stats model)
Knowledge of supply chain models, operations research techniques, optimization modelling
Proficiency Power BI or Tableau, and Relational Database Management systems for managing large data sets
Familiarity with version control systems
Experience with machine learning and AI techniques for predictive modeling
Excellent communication skills to explain technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Previous experience working as an operations research analyst or in a similar data analytics role
