Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Title: T&E Buyer
Reports To: T&E Purchasing Manager
Essential responsibilities and duties
The role of the T&E Buyer is to anticipate the specific tooling & Equipment requirements for new programs (supplier technologies, geographical location, and target costs), ensure the commodity panel strategy is appropriate to support the program, select and pilot suppliers from the agreed supplier panel to achieve Program objectives.
The main missions of the role are:
o Organise & Understand Technical reviews with PML/Tool-Co/Process Expert to finalize technical scope for the Tooling & Equipment requirement
o Manage RFQ process with suppliers shortlisted by commodity according to panel strategy
o Define the sourcing Tactic in coordination with the Commodity buyer (RFQ, eAuction...)
o Negotiate with suppliers (coordinated with Commodity for sensitive / strategic contracts)
o Lead the global steering and sourcing committee meetings for the program, ensure supplier selection from FCM purchasing panel.
o Tracking supplier deliverables w.r.t. Program need
o Ensure sourcing prices are comply with internal cost targets
o Track performance during the program phase for T&E : Cost, Cash, Quality, Delivery
o Ensure industrialization follow-up by Tool & Equipment Ordering as per project needs
o Negotiate and follow-up on Engineering Change Requests until GATE 4
o Ensure the process of RFQ to Supplier nomination process via Ariba
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be :
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
Nice to have: Professional Purchasing Qualification in the toolings
Experience:
o Minimum 2 to 8 years experience including a tooling and equipment/capex buyer
o Experience working in an international environment
Nice to have: Previous International Assignment
Skills and competencies:
o Understanding of product design, Jigs fixures, Assembly line layouts, line development and production launch processes
o Knowledge of supplier cost structures & commercials Market know how
o Understanding of purchasing commodity strategy
o Fluent English
o Strong written and oral presentation skills
o Good planning, organization and project management skills
o International mindset
o Ability to work in a matrix organization
o Global leadership of a functional team
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of APQP and program management in automotive
- System knowledge- ARIBA, SAP
- Another language depending on the region
- Strong analytical capabilities
