Overview:
The SOX Assessment Analyst is responsible for supporting the company's internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and ensuring adherence to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). This role includes evaluating effectiveness of internal controls through enterprise-wide risk events that are impacting financial reports and supporting the team to prepare necessary communication to the senior leadership. The analyst will work closely with various departments to ensure proper documentation, remediation, and improvement of process.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Identify control deficiencies that are impacting financial reporting and work with process owners to perform root cause analysis
· Provide SOX guidance to business process areas to ensure effective design and implementation of risk events
· Prepare and deliver trainingsessions to increase awareness and understanding of the SOX requirements and assessment framework
· Develop, issue, and maintain guidance for SOX assessment activities
· Support various SOX compliance reporting activities to ensure timely and effective escalations to the senior leaders
· Stay current on SOX regulations, updates and industry best practices to continuously improve the company's compliance posture
Minimum Qualifications
· Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
· 2+ years' experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, external audit or related financial/accounting role
· Strong knowledge of SOX requirements and ICFR principles
· Professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred
· Analytical skills with the ability to identify control deficiencies and recommend improvements, as needed
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate issues in a timely and effective manner.
