Overall responsibilities and duties:
Mandatory Design Kick-off at the beginning of the program / Task (align with Scope, org chart, timing, Milestones, MoM , to follow SLI for open point, etc)
Understanding of Faurecia PMS ( WorkPackages, Deliverables as per Gate )
For his perimeter, define technical solutions and CAD data (3D & 2D) using proper Faurecia standard templates and CAD methodology and using Right first time approach Tools (RFT , KADiT, FasTrack)
Program delivery planning and execution, Concept design, Master sections
Customer alignment for Due date, forecast and resource planning .
Responsible for budget, Ensure Tracking of IOM hours & and request addon additional approved hours whenever necessary.
Data integration and management in Magellan.
Serial design specification to follow.
Functional drawings - To be able to create and validate engineering drawings and identify critical gaps by using stack up analysis.
Define RPS. Align the same internally (DMs, Specialists).
Prepare Tolerance stack book, use of Tolsys, co-ordination and follow-up with other metiers for any required inputs.
GD&T (including preparation and coordination of KCs for internal and customer needs)
Able to provide trainings to Design Engineers.
Conduct weekly design reviews with team and management & ensure closure of points identified
Mandatory Top 5 with team to define work and feedback from previous day
Maintain team level SLI and discuss with Couter part / System architect for open points and share regularly
Faurecia Product Standards and Guidelines to adhere and provide Support to update them timely.
Customer constraints and specifications to follow and cascade with Team.
Applicable regulations and legislation to adhere and highlight any deviation to program team whenever necessary
Assign detailed work to Project Design team through appropriate method and follow Resource loading as per Kanban.
Responsible for Quality, Cost & Delivery for the program / task via Kanban
TQW errors to be captured regularly in Defect Tracking Sheet
Ensure Project Design team are aware of Faurecia Product Standards, Guidelines, customer specifications and rules / requirements.
Ensure process feasibility of the product design and A-Surfaces (with Expert team if needed).
For design proposals, initiate with benchmarking (digital and Physical) and validate with 3D Printing as per need
Ensure overall product "Design for Performance" (including implementationof inputs with regard to results of simulation, tests and validation in CAD to meet performance criteria) with development engineering team.
Support the KPC identification, Support DFMEA.
To work on development plan to continulously improve the Skill sets for self and Team
Follow the systems and procedures of Faurecia. (Kanban, Checklist, Magellan, IOM etc.)
At the end of a program, make appropriate capitalization documents (Lessons learned, Technical Reports) to feed/improve Design and Development standards and guidelines.
Identify training needs for the team members based on their skill matrix To uphold & abide by code of ethics & Management
Awareness of QMS policy & Processes.
Ensuring all work process & procedures are in line with QMS objectives & reporting any incident of deviation from QMS.
Team planning for leaves, project deliverables, forecast & shift planning for team of 5 or more & reporting it to N+1 in advance.
Yearly performance assessment of Team members as a functional N+1
Maintain and support for Benchmark, Lesson learnt, data base to team
Responsible for Cross metier communication
Responsible for Quality Audit
AUTHORITY:
To validate the work results of the Design team and Work Status daily basis.
Performance tracking of Design Engineers with feedback to D&D Deputy Manager on improvement plan.
Negotiation with counter part on matters pertaining to delivery date, delieverables and billable hours.
The main missions of the role are:
Responsible for detail product design according to OEM specfications , standards and guidelines.
Translate defined product design performance criteria in CAD data & specifications.
Masters specific areas Complete Seat, Frame , Plastic, Foam & Accessories of a given technology .
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Minimum?education level: ? Engineering degree, or significant professional experience
Experience?:
Engineering degree, or significant professional experience
Total 5-6 years experience of which at least 3 years of relevant experience in design as a design engineer in automotive Seating design
English required, and customer's language strongly encouraged
Able to work in a multicultural environment
Knowledge of CAD software including CATIA, NX
Significant experience on design of Plastic products.
Skills and competencies
Thorough /knowledge in program specific CAD software.
Thorough experience in designing in required domain , i.e.Seatings, interiors, exteriors, acoustics etc.
Good knowledge of CAD Methodology and best practices and tooling knowledge
Well aware of Tolerance stack calculations
Knowledge of assigned program timing and deliverables at each milestone
Knowledge of program standards, tools and methods like Tolerance stack, DFMEA, CAE & SEATING REGULATIONS
Problem solving techniques. Exposure to 8D and QRCI
Strategic and analytical capabilities.
IATF16949, ISO9001 Standard knowledge & support for its compliance
