TeamProfile:
The IBD and GCM Business Control Units support IBD and GCM in executing a variety of strategic, financial, operational andregulatory initiatives, including theidentification, evaluationand mitigation of risks arisingfrom IBDandGCM businessactivities. This positionprovidesanopportunitytooverseethe execution and enhancement of the risk management and oversight processes for the IBD and GCM businesses and focuses onthe client and deal executionriskmanagement processes (includingclient and transaction controls, client onboarding and transactional due diligence) for the IBD and Global Capital Markets (GCM) businesses.
KeyResponsibilities:
SupportingourInvestmentBankingDivision(IBD)andGlobalCapitalMarkets businessinAsiaPacific, this position sits within the Business Control Unit which:
Supports IBDandGCMinexecutingavarietyofstrategic, financial andregulatorymanagementinitiatives;
Managesriskinrealtimethroughproductandtransactionalexpertise,independentcommitteereview, challenge and governance, use of a comprehensive framework of policy setting, risk identification and control implementation, including providing governance oversight of M&A, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets and loan transactions to meet the Firm's regulatory and internal requirements, including client onboarding, due diligence, recordkeeping, assessments of anti-money laundering, anti-corruption,sanctions-relatedmattersandtheevaluationofpotentialfranchise-relatedmatters;
Support the completion of diligence reviews for a given transaction, including assessing potential issues,coordinatingbetweendealteamandrelevantcontrolfunctionsandescalatingissuesasneeded
Assist withtheidentificationandevaluationofpotential franchiserisks arisingfromIBDandGCM client relationships and related business activities
Communicatedevelopmentsontransactionstoseniorstakeholders
SupportsbusinessmanagersbyoverseeingbusinessadherenceandalignmenttotheFirm'sglobalrisk management principles, policies and procedures through close coordination and interaction with the Firm's independent risk management functions (e.g., Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Technology and Operational Risk, Internal Audit etc.);
Supports supervisors by performing regular reviews of businesses' activities and controls, escalating issues anddrivingexecutionofremediationactionsinadelegatecapacityinaccordancewiththeIBD supervisory procedures;
Fosters astrongcomplianceculturewithinIBDandGCM bymanagingthesupervisoryframework and delivering and monitoring trainings; and
Works withtheInstitutionalSecurities GroupCentralRisk teamto adviseonmanaging1stlinenon- financial risks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor'sdegree, withaminimumof10yearsofrelevantfinancial,legal, complianceoraccounting industry experience
ExperienceonIndianM&AandCapitalMarketstransactions
ExperiencewithIndianlegalandregulatoryrequirementsformerchantbankingandfinancialservices
Fluencyin English andHindi(orothermajorAsianlanguage)
