You will be part of the Global Tax function at American Express, whose mission is to deliver tax expertise and technology-enhanced solutions that positively influence business outcomes. This role is based out of Gurugram and sits within the Global Transfer Pricing (GTP) team, reporting to Director - Global Transfer Pricing at American Express. The GTP team ensures the creation and alignment of transfer pricing policies with global business operations of the Company, assists in preparing strategic documentation to support inter-company transactions within the group, and resolves transfer pricing challenges with tax authorities across various jurisdictions.

How will you make an impact in this role?
The primary focus of this role will be to support the Director of Global Transfer Pricing in managing transfer pricing audits internationally. The candidate will also support to ensure that all intercompany transactions follow relevant transfer pricing regulations and are in compliance with Company's transfer pricing policies.
In addition, the candidate will be regularly challenged both internally and externally due to wide-ranging and complex inter-company transactions across various lines of businesses and constant transfer pricing developments in the US and abroad.
This role will involve working closely with a diverse team of tax and accounting professionals and advisors including colleagues from Intercompany Center of Excellence (IC-COE) to navigate complex transfer pricing audits and defend associated intercompany transactions related tax positions. 
Responsibilities & Skills for the role includes:
Support the Director of Global Transfer Pricing in managing various US and non-US transfer pricing audits and controversies, including responding to IDRs, and researching, analyzing, and preparing tax & financial analyses together with supporting documentation to defend the Company's position in such audits.
Collaborate with colleagues both within and outside of Global Tax particularly with IC – COE team to collect and analyze relevant information and data to support the analyses and strategies for resolving transfer pricing disputes and ensuring compliance with US and international transfer pricing regulations.
Assist in liaising with external tax advisors to manage the preparation of analyses for audit defense position papers, as well as preparation and review of contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation for various American Express entities globally.
Support and contribute to various processes related to monitoring transfer pricing related tax legislative developments across markets where American Express conducts business including developments related to the OECD BEPS initiatives to determine impact to and actions required by American Express.
Assist in providing business advisory support for cross border transactions to colleagues both within and outside of Global Tax to ensure that relevant transfer pricing policy complies with the applicable provisions of the tax regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
The preferred candidate should have a minimum experience of 3 years working with a large multinational enterprise or with one of the BIG 4 public accounting firms.
Educational qualifications like Bachelor's / Master's in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Professional qualification like Chartered Accountancy or CPA would be a plus.

Preferred Qualification:
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong ability to utilize project management and best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and familiarity with Oracle Financials and SharePoint tools.
