As a Test Solutions Engineering, SDET at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for the developing firmware for efficient and reliable code for testing and debugging of die/wafer/packaged products for the functionality & reliability test of sophisticated semiconductor memory devices such as NAND, mNAND, DRAM. You are responsible to innovate, build effective processes and systems for overall Micron Development Engineering in Test & Assembly manufacturing unit thereby driving Best-in-Class Quality. We develop embedded and interface software, analyze schematics, review PCB layouts, prototype circuits, debug hardware, automate testing, develop user libraries to control hardware, and create documentation and maintaining software applications.We work closely with controls and electrical engineers to deliver command and control solutions for test equipment.
We write code primarily in C, C++, and Python in the Linux environment for various microcontrollers and computing modules acting as the interface to custom hardware. You shall work closely within the Technology and Products Group to develop Micron's future memory technology. Your role is to ensure Process, Design and Product Engineering have the feedback incorporated in the test flow to improve the technology and thereby minimize time to market. Through strong collaboration and innovation, you need to minimize the test time through measurable data analysis keeping the quality deliverable and thus enable Micron's continued success as a technology leader.
As a Test Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing Firmware for testing of SSDs, mNAND etc
During the development phase, you will need to work closely with Product Engineers to understand the test requirements to develop the Manufacturing FW.
During the high-volume manufacturing phase, drive continuous improvement initiatives in terms of test coverage to improve DPM and drive TTR improvements through optimization of code.
It will also encompass driving Manufacturing FW release and validation plan to ensure smooth integration of the Manufacturing FW released to the production floor.
Goal is to ensure that devices are tested to meet or exceed the required functionality, usability, quality/reliability and performance with an efficient manufacturing firmware.
Involving in End to End product development, understand the system architecture to come up with new test screens to bring out the early life failures on the media.
Get the required knowledge and involve in pre-mfg & MTFW development and validation.
Work to improve the yield, quality, reduction in test time in different stages of program.
Good C/C++ programming skills with experience in embedded system design and development
Manufacturing firmware development experience on complex storage specific memory controllers.
Ability to read and understand hardware schematics.
Debugging the complex production issues using inhouse debug environments.
Define and improve testing methods to address new product characterization and qualification issues.
Working experience in storage interface such as SATA, SAS, PCIE would be an advantage.
Good understanding and experience with Unix/Linux operating systems is a plus.
