Test Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled test architect with expertise in Playwright to lead our automated testing efforts. As a Test Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated test frameworks, harnesses, and scripts that ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of our applications. You will work closely with Business Process Specialists to understand the system requirements and convert them into comprehensive automated test strategies. Your role will involve creating robust, scalable, and maintainable test architectures that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipeline.

Roles and responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and harnesses using Playwright.
Collaborate with Business Process Specialists to translate business requirements into effective test strategies.
Define and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web applications and services.
Ensure comprehensive test coverage by designing tests for functional, regression, performance, and security scenarios.
Lead the development of end-to-end automated testing solutions, including UI, API, and integration tests.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring quick and reliable feedback for development teams.
Mentor and provide guidance to QA engineers on best practices in automated testing and Playwright usage.
Conduct code reviews of test scripts to ensure adherence to testing standards and best practices.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automated testing, particularly with Playwright.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth deployment and execution of automated tests in various environments.
Monitor and analyse test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to resolve them.
Document test strategies, frameworks, and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency.

Tasks:
Develop and implement test cases for business processes as defined by business process specialists.
Create reusable test components and libraries to streamline test development.
Optimise test scripts for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Work with version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage test scripts and framework changes.
Collaborate with the development team to ensure automated tests are aligned with software architecture and design.
Use tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI to automate test execution as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
Analyse and report on automated test coverage, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
Implement test data management strategies to support automated test execution.
Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine test requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for automated test environments and frameworks.
