As an IBM Storage Administrator L2, he/she will assume a leadership role in the administration, optimization, and support of IBM storage systems within the organization. This advanced-level position requires a comprehensive understanding of IBM storage principles, technologies, and best practices, as well as the ability to lead cross-functional teams in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of storage infrastructure.. You will need to visit the domestic client's offices / data centres on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.
Responsibilities:Storage Infrastructure Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IBM storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and tape libraries, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Storage Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize storage infrastructure, including storage pools, volumes, and data migration processes, to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Performance Management: Monitor storage system performance metrics and analyze trends to identify optimization opportunities and ensure optimal performance for business-critical applications and workloads.
Data Protection and Disaster Recovery: Lead the design and implementation of data protection measures, including backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions, to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.
Storage Security: Develop and implement security measures to protect storage systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting storage-related issues, providing guidance and leadership to resolve complex problems and minimize downtime.
Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage systems and processes, including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and incident reports.
Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application developers, to support storage infrastructure requirements and initiatives. Provide training and mentorship to junior storage administrators as needed.
