JR62657 Staff UX designer – IT TBMO
The IT department at Micron is looking for a forward-thinking creative Staff Professional to join our IT TBMO team as a UI/UX Staff designer.
As a UI/UX Staff Designer, you will be responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes, and come up with creative designs for a better User experience. Working closely with our product/Project and development teams, you will present reasoning for any design decision based on UX standards and methodologies such as Laws of UX and Design Principles. As designer, you will also provide supporting assets for handoff to developers and review of design work.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects/activities at the same time, set priorities, and pivot to new tasks quickly. Creativity, organization and an eye for clean design are required. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Collaboration with peers, leaders, and global counterparts is required along with mentoring the junior resources.
Roles and responsibilities:
As a Staff UX Designer, your role involves creating exceptional user experiences for digital products. Here are the key responsibilities and skills associated with this position:
User Research and Testing:
Conduct user research to understand user needs, preferences, and problems.
Perform usability testing to gather feedback and validate design decisions.
Design and Prototyping:
Develop wireframes, task flows, and prototypes based on user requirements.
Create personas through thorough user research and data analysis.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other designers, developers, and partners.
Collaborate with UI designers to implement attractive visual designs.
Information Architecture:
Define the right interaction model for the product.
Evaluate the success of the chosen interaction model.
Problem-Solving and Creativity:
Find innovative solutions to UX challenges (e.g., usability, findability).
Ensure the product is user-friendly and intuitive.
Leadership skills:
Stakeholder Management:
Identifying, understanding, and addressing the needs and concerns of all the parties interested in a project. This includes clients, team members, users, and any other individuals or groups that may be affected by the project's outcome. Ensures that everyone's expectations are aligned, which can lead to a more successful and user-centered design.
Strong communication skills, the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts. Able to present the project outcome and impact to senior leadership.
Design Leadership:
Lead design projects and establish or refine UX design processes.
Mentor junior designers and guide them in their work.
Team Management:
Manage a small team including designers, prototypers, user researchers.
Raise the bar for all creative and product design work within the team.
User-Centric Approach:
Analyze user interface problems and create design solutions aligned with business goals and requirements.
Collaborate with other team members (such as front-end and back-end developers, content writers, and CX researchers) to ensure usability and effectiveness.
Design Exploration:
Explore new design options and update legacy content.
Continuously evaluate and improve the user experience.
Stay updated on industry trends in UX related to software products or application development like automated code generation and adapting AI Generative tools.
Project Management:
Ability to plan, execute and close the projects successfully.
Ability to drive UX engagement within large project independently.
Driving Scrum team of UX professional with active participation on grooming user stories, estimating work and prioritizing the day to day tasks.
Requirements:
At least 10 year's of proven experience as a UX Designer or similar role.
Strong portfolio, showcasing successful UX and technical projects in Software-Products/Applications/Services.
Background in project management and research.
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma).
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript skills are a plus.
Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and negotiating skills.
Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
