Job Summary
As a Manager, Solutions Engineering Manager in NetApp's Sales function, you will utilize strong management and technical competencies to set objectives and develop strategies for subordinate level Systems Engineers. This challenging and high-visibility position provides leadership and management oversight to the department. You develop long-term strategies and shorter-term plans to meet aggressive performance goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships.
Job Requirements
• Proven experience leading a technical pre-sales team in India.
• Understanding and knowledge of Data Storage market in India, including customers and partners and eco-system alliances.
• Drive engagement and motivation of the sub-ordinates and build a healthy work culture.
• Good understanding of governance and review mechanisms like using CRM tools for progressing presales stages and driving sales engagements in the field.
• Excellent verbal and written communications, including presentation, relationship building and negotiations skills.
• Leveraging their industry knowledge, provide cover to filed teams in competitive campaigns and align all internal resources to help them win in tough competitive situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with functional peers across functions including Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Customer Support, and Product Development.
• Strong understanding of Data storage, Data Protection, AI building blocks and Cloud technologies along with competitive offerings in the marketplace.
• Proven capability to work as a key member of the leadership and contribute to strong business growth.
• Develop blueprints for improving presales engagements in the field.
• The ability to hold key CXO relationships within major accounts in your territory.
• Experience evangelizing technology, including Social Media platforms, events as well as experience with media and analysts in India.
Essential Functions
• Provide management oversight to Systems Engineers within the region to drive all pertinent issues related to strategy and goal attainment.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions with the sales management team on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Continuously improve the customer experience and hence customer loyalty and maintain key customer relationships in your territory.
• Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution.
• Establish short-term and long-term goals and performance metrics in line with corporate objectives.
• Identify and qualify important sales opportunities at the management level and provide inputs to the wider sales team.
• Review management plans with SE Director and District Managers on a regular basis.
• Act as coach, mentor and educator to SEs and Sales Reps within the Region.
• Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
• Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing.
Education
• At least 5 years of experience as a people manager is required, with atleast 10-12 years of technical consulting / presales experience.
• A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Computer Science; or related field is preferred; a Graduate Degree is mandatory.
