Acting as a Team lead in terms of being a point of contact for the relevant Trade pillars and handling of cross-border deals, review of new product/new program rollout, multi-jurisdictional legal due diligence, and documentation and other projects.Providing product legal advice to the TWCS stakeholders and colleagues, both at the cluster and country level, which includes advice on the legal and franchise issues, risks, and mitigants in respect of TWCS product offerings and TWCS deals;Facilitating the identification and discussion of any deviations from the standard TWCS documentation, product parameters, and Citi standards and other material legal or franchise issues, in consultation with relevant stakeholders;Drafting and/or reviewing complex product legal documentation for Asia clusters, and handling negotiationsWorking closely with Compliance, Risk, and other control functions with respect to advisory and documentation issues;Advising on changes in law and regulations relevant to the Services business across key countries in the Asia clusters; and Initiating and driving global TWCS documentation projects, including the development of new internal standard form templatesAs a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm (covering/supporting commercial law or international trade law) or banking or financial institution (covering/supporting the cross-border trade finance or loans business)Adept at managing contract negotiations and draftingFinancial regulatory experience is an advantageKnowledge of laws with respect to data privacy, electronic commerce, or digital signatures is a significant plus.Fluency in English.A skilled counsel and negotiator who can proactively work with a wide range of colleagues in both business and support roles; able to respond to a broad range of needs and develop business friendly solutions to requirements while balancing compliance with multiple legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements.B.A.LL.B (Hons.) or equivalent qualification from an accredited national university in India or elsewhere.Admitted to practice law in India or other common law jurisdiction.Working at Citi is far more than just a job.
