QA Automation Engineer - ETL
The ideal candidate will be experienced in planning, developing, and executing comprehensive tests. As a member of the Quality Engineering team, you will
work closely with the development, BA, and support teams to understand the application's features and architecture to develop test cases to ensure that
the application's UI / API / Data layers are thoroughly tested before releasing into production.
Principal Responsibilities
Become an SME of the application and utilize that knowledge to own and drive end-to-end testing initiatives throughout the entire SDLC from
project test planning, requirement review, test design, test execution, test reporting and sign off.
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable automated test cases using in house automation framework libraries and open-source
frameworks to achieve highest possible test automation coverage.
Be a strong quality advocate, collaborating closely with software engineers and product owners to release highest quality products.
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test execution environments/pipelines.
Work with Quality Engineering team members to achieve upstream / downstream integration testing.
Work with SDETs to suggest and contribute new features / changes to central framework library and tools.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Highly Skilled individual contributor
5+ years of experience in Test Automation Harness Development or Software Development using Java
Experience designing, implementing, or enhancing test harness / framework for ETLs. Experience in Data Warehouse is desired but not required.
Proven track record of building test automation frameworks and integrating automated testing tools with them.
Proficient in Java, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
Strong SQL skills with experience in understanding requirements / mapping and debugging for solving complex data reconciliations
API Test Automation using Rest Assured or similar tools
Web Automation using Selenium or similar tools is desired but not required
Knowledge of financial instruments and nomenclature, experience with various trading or back-office systems is desired but not required.
Experience with CI / CD from test automation perspective.
Experience in automated testing of distributed systems / solutions.
Abilities to solve complex problems with practical, maintainable, and scalable solutions
Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, and tracing root cause.
Desired Skills:
Working with Kafka would be huge plus.
Working with AWS cloud applications and understanding of AWS S3, RDS, Red Shift, Athena would be a plus.
Any experience in performance testing using tools like JMeter
Any experience in Linux
Any experience in order and execution management
Any experience in using AI for testing
