Citi Finance is responsible for the firm's financial management and related controls. We manage and partner on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi's compliance with financial rules and regulations. We're currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Officer, Balance Sheet Control Analyst C09 Hybrid (Internal Job Title: Officer Balance Sheet Control Analyst C09) based in India. In this role, you're expected to:
• Ensure the integrity of Balance Sheet accounts through the monthly validation of balances.
• Ensure that each account balance is fully reconciled, proofed, aged & submitted in e-Recon.
• Identify potential internal control weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with Balance Sheet Reconciliation & Substantiation policy & Minimum Standards
• Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations for numerous legal vehicles across EMEA to a high standard in line with Corporate guidelines
• Responsible for the follow up and resolution of reconciling items.
• Responsible for the accurate reporting of the status of the reconciliations owned into Citi reporting tool 'eRecon'
• Communicating with Account Owners & Legal Entity Managers across multiple locations on the status of the reconciliations performed
• Escalating any account related issues to Regional Balance Sheet Control
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:
• Graduation is a must.
• Post - Graduate/ Semi Qualified Accountant.
• Knowledge of Citi is desirable but not required.
• Post-Graduation in Finance & Accounting (min 3 years)
• Qualified CA (0-1 year) or experienced/ Semi Qualified CA (4-5 years)
• Analytical skills
• Strong communicator (oral / written)
• Hands-on experience in MS office
