GIA India Laboratory PrivateLimitedJob Title:Manager-SecurityRole:Ensure effective security, safety and emergency response preparedness atGIA India and Middle East operations and provide leadership to the safetyand security staff at company's international business units in IndiaEssential Duties:? Physical Security Operations: 25%- Security risks are identified and all necessary remediation, acceptance,mitigation, or transference of these risks is managed in an efficient andtimely manner.- Gather information regarding Security risks, undertake risk evaluation /prioritization and disseminate this information to the relevant keyindividuals accordingly.- Establish effective access-control checks and monitoring of the peoplevisiting the company.- Coordinate and/or conduct security related investigations as well asmanage security issues and incidents.- Support the business regarding the development and implementationof the Corporate Security Policies / Standards and the appropriate localpolicies, programs, procedures and guidelines in order to prevent orminimize losses and business disruptions.- Assist in the development of workable practices and procedures foremployee and visitors.- Manage the compliance with all Corporate Security rules, standards,guidelines and locally applicable legislation.- Establish working relationships with key individuals in staff and linepositions throughout the site regarding Security and Health & Safetymatters appropriately.- Plan, co-ordinate and supervise operational security activities andprojects.- Conducts internal security audits.- Provides leadership, advice and counsel to all security staff in achievingcurrent and long rage strategic program objectives.- Conducts new employee orientation program to explain them about theSafety and Security policy- Establish liaison with Local Government agencies, local authorities,security services vendors, professional security organizations.- Mentors and develops security team by, managing work allocation,performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.- Imparts training to the security staff through regular briefings on? Technical Safety & Security operations: 25%- Maintains and ensures all security technical systems are operational atall-times with no undue risk exposure to business.- Maintains oversight on fire safety systems upkeep and upgrade toensure no fire safety risk exposures- Identifies exposures and to recommend and develop corrective plans asappropriate.- Ensures standard installation, commissioning & testing of equipment incoordination with respective vendors.- Assess and ensure the system is upgraded as appropriate.? Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response: 30%- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing safetyplans/programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management,Incident Management and/or Investigation.- Carries out safety risk assessments and submits reports identifying theimprovement areas.- Reviews live-CCTV monitoring operations and ensures quick response toany security/safety situation.- Monitors external environment through TV and other sources and alertssuperiors about any issues or event which may potentially have animpact on company operations or staff-safety.- Reviews and implements emergency response plan and conductsemergency preparedness drills.- Conducts training & testing of security staff on emergency response. Nomajor noncompliance during audits, drills and in emergency situations.- Writes procedures for all existing and new activities includingdepartmental response in probable non-routine situations.- Ensures all security and safety incidents are reported, recorded,investigated and timely closed with effective corrective actions withinagreed timelines.- Applies effective occupational safety measures to ensure no unduepeople-safety risk exposure.- Ensures regulatory and statutory compliance conducting bi-annualsafety audits & gap closure following the RJC guidelines.?Internal Audits & Records Management: 20%- Ensures maintenance of required documentation as per legal ®ulatory requirement.- Maintains and complies with the legal register.- Audits material management records to ensure compliance to thecompany policy.- Audits visitor management records to ensure compliance to thecompany policyAudits & analyzes system-defect logs and assist in improvingmaintenance record (efficiency).- Audits and analyzes fire safety system impairment log and submits it asappropriate.- Audits & maintains safety & security assets list with required spares.- Maintains various authorization matrixes with required approvals andensures updates on regular intervals, such as for facility access, vault'saccess, video review, material exits approvals, cell phone inside labarea, roll-call list etc.- Maintains and submits required regular reports to the management.Qualification:- Management GraduateWork Experience- Minimum 10 years relevant experienceDescription of SuccessFactors:Knowledge- Physical security operations- Technical Security Systems- Local regulations- Criminal and fraud investigationsSkills- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills- Team player and relationship manager who can work closely withbusiness unit and other functional heads- Coaching and mentoring skills- Must be able to delegate with controls- Eye for detail and metrics driven- Assertive and firm- Person with high energy levels and initiative- Exceptional time managementAbility- Leadership ability with sound business judgment; ability to see thebig picture- Ability to work as a team with senior management.
