Hungry, Humble, Honest, with Heart.The OpportunityThe Platforms Software Engineer will work closely with OEM partners' engineering teams and internal software teams to implement the Nutanix software stack on partners' hardware platforms. In this role you will develop expertise in the lower-level components and features of the Nutanix software stack that are meaningful to the hardware platform and components. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, enabling the teams responsible for OEM platform and component qualification, major software feature additions, bug fixes, and joint OEM factory deployments. Engineering / R&D at NutanixYour RoleWork closely with OEM partners to introduce new products and components to marketDevelop software components to enable qualification of new platformsProvide technical guidance to OEM partners through product certification phaseTroubleshoot issues encountered during certification and provide resolutionsWork with Support Teams during field escalations, reproduce issues and work with internal teams for resolutionsWork with Sustaining Engineering teams on qualification of various Nutanix software products on OEM hardwareImplement and deploy hardware imaging processes at partner's factoriesProvide technical advice to Program Managers and ManagementMaintain OEM hardware inventory and ensure platforms are kept upgradedHelp develop better processes for development and debug, and maintain documentation for the sameMaintain database for OEM partners' platforms and componentsConduct training programs for partners and internal teamsContinually learn about new Nutanix software features and assess impact to OEMs' hardware platformsWhat You Will BringBachelor's or Master's in CS or a related field2 - 6 years of strong programming experienceProficiency in Python, C or similar languagesKnowledge of Linux/UNIX including internalsSystems experience is a plusFamiliarity with distributed data management and the trade-offs inherent in building clustered, high-performance, fault-tolerant systems software desirableFamiliarity with x86 and PowerPC architectures desirableFamiliarity with virtualization and storage management desirableAbout the TeamAbout Your Manager:You'll be reporting to Bijoy P , who is not only your manager but also an integral part of the organization.
