Ever wanted to dabble with cutting edge technologies? As part of our EP team, you'll be touching highly distributed microservices that use Docker, Spark, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, Databases, Key Value Stores and Data Pipelines for the massive amounts of internal dogfooding and testing. You will be part of the team that owns the following (but not limited to):
Automated Orchestrated Deployments for our Devops Infrastructure
Architect and implement as a service models to manage infrastructure (both Hardware and Virtual)
Tooling to optimize CI/CD and Merge Operations
Working with other teams to improve developer experience and shorten the time to production with adequate quality control.
Pure Storage is seeking a software engineer to create developer productivity tools as part of DevOps practice which includes automating infrastructure deployment and monitoring, handle code merge pipeline operations and build + maintain CI/CD framework. You will be working on Engineering Productivity tools development projects such as optimizing CI/CD and merge operations, building analytics tools to derive insight from big data, developer productivity tools to handle defect management etc. You will need to partner cross functionally across development, infrastructure and quality assurance teams. You will be scaling up the processes for test driven development to run efficiently in an integrated CI / CD environment and working on automating infrastructure deployment automation that spins thousands of nodes.

Build tools and services to manage capacity, monitoring and operations of the physical and virtual infrastructure fleet
Build microservices and pipelines to scale up code management and merge operations
Build tools to measure, report and assess code quality and highlight issues across code branches
Develop easy-to-use tools that enable developers from various product teams to diagnose issues in test and infrastructure
Adopt best practices such as test driven development and deliver high quality code, in an agile environment.
Mentor junior developers in writing quality code.
Drive stable and consistent tests through tools and operational best practices
Work with product teams to understand & fix the key issues in the test infrastructure, and improve the test pipeline to find issues as early as possible.
Challenge Status-Quo and continue to look for opportunities to improve the process, tooling, importantly delighting our internal customers.
Collaborate across the entire engineering organization to define test infrastructure and tools requirements by participating in product requirement & product design reviews.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
Mandatory skills:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
Minimum of 8+ years of software development experience,
Hands on coding capability in any Object Oriented/ Functional programming
Kubernetes/ Nomad experience.
Good to have:
Advanced programming capabilities in at least one languages - Golang/Python/Rust.
Natural curiosity, obsessive attention to detail and innate troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of continuous integration tools like Jenkins/Github/Github Actions.
Understanding of datacenter operations like infrastructure management and monitoring
Prior experience with Engineering Productivity tools development
Demonstrated Unix/Linux automation experience
Agile, Test frameworks, Continuous Integration experience
Ability to work independently in cross-functional teams
Must be willing and able to work in an open office, team environment
You will be based in Bangalore, Karnataka. As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.
