Team Description
The GMNS Analytics team is responsible for overseeing analytics, data products and platforms specific to the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) business. Our team is dedicated to helping American Express leverage enterprise-wide capabilities and assets to strengthen our integrated network and become an essential part of our customers' digital lives. We directly support and strengthen our network of merchants by maintaining and enriching Amex closed loop merchant data, executing scaled and bespoke insights and analytics to drive merchant and partner marketing and operations, and identifying prospective merchants and suppliers to bring into our integrated network.
Role Description
Reporting to the VP of GNS Analytics, the Manager will provide insights and analytics that support network strategy and opportunities, policy and product decision analytics to increase the impact for our network partners. You will be the critical member of team focused on growing data-driven decision making across the GNS business. The team will work closely with internal stakeholders across the globe to scope, structure and deliver complex analytic projects. The ideal candidate has a strong analytics background with experience working within the network or merchant business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and solve for GNS strategic priorities with Analytics / Product solutions.
Collaborate with other Blue Box Analytics teams to develop new analytics solutions
Strategic planning acumen to effectively translate leadership vision into executable strategies and measurable initiatives
Lead, Mentor & Build a high performing and highly engaged team with diverse talent. Contribute to recruiting top talent for the team and for GMNS India
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent experience in a similar business and 5+ years post-qualification experience in an analytics role.
Excellent knowledge of and experience with SAS, SQL, Python, R encompassing data manipulation and data mining techniques.
Strong and current grasp on Big Data, business intelligence solutions and 3rd party and digital data sources.
Ability to innovate and identify new insights based on a variety of data sources.
Previous experience with in any of the following areas a plus:
o Card Networks like Visa/MasterCard
o Marketing Analytics or Risk Management
CONSULTATION:
· Ability to support regional business teams to ensure optimal understanding of analytical solutions.
· Ability to collaborate with Business Development and Marketing colleagues in partner facing situations where detailed explanation of analytical outputs or concepts is required.
Ability to liaise with internal stakeholders within the GMNS organization and provide strategic inputs for key business decisions.
