The Operational Risk Management (ORM) team facilitates and monitors the implementation of effective operational risk management programs throughout the organization, and oversees risk ownership throughout business units, products, and processes.
The objective of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Issues & Events team is to efficiently manage and remediate operational risk events (OREs) and issues across the BU,and ensure timely resolution of events that may impact BAU operations.
Operational Risk Management is looking for a Manager for Issues & Events team focused on ensuring effective operational risk management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.
The Manager within Operational Risk Management (ORM) Issues & Events team will be responsible for:
Assist in administrative activities required to maintain the scope of issues and events within an enterprise framework.
Lead a team of analysts/ senior analysts and provide guidance in prioritizing tasks and ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
Support specific activities / tasks required to maintain the technology and processes used to record, manage, and report issues and events, to ensure they are fit for purpose and efficient .
Assist in ensuring all administrative activities required to support senior team members in providing guidance to the BU on how to identify, root cause, and log issues and events .
Assist in specific activities / tasks required to ensure that root cause analysis and remediation efforts focus on the most impactful issues and events .
Provide effective challenge on accuracy, completeness and quality of control environment through reviews of issues and events across the enterprise .
Support compiling materials needed to educate stakeholders in the BU on issues and event management .
Assist in administrative activities required to support senior team members in running / facilitating cross-functional
Committees of Practice (CoPs) .
Required Qualifications:
3+ years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and understands critical operational risk management lifecycle activities .
Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills .
Experience in process governance, establishing and overseeing robust decision-making processes that align with
policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards .
Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively .
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or
certifications are advantageous
Experience in at least one of the following:
Supporting senior team members in maintaining the scope of issues and events within an enterprise framework
Supporting senior team members in manage and maintain the technology and processes used to record, manage, and report issues and events
Assisting in ensuring all activities required to support senior team members in providing guidance to the BU on how to identify, root cause, and log issues andevents
Assisting in specific activities / tasks required to ensure that root cause analysis and remediation efforts focus on the most impactful issues and events
Supporting senior team members in prioritizing risks to ensure that root cause analysis and remediation efforts focus on the most impactful issues and events
Compiling educational materials for stakeholders in the BU on issues and event management
Experience in financial services industry
