Description
This position is in the Credit and Fraud Risk – Enterprise Personalization Decision Science team, for leading the customer marketing and personalization (PZN) Decision Science capability for consumer and commercial portfolios. The role is critical for accelerating the next wave of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) innovations for Enterprise customer personalization models to support the Blue Box's growth ambitions and will be responsible for the governance of the development and delivery process for the enterprise models, to ensure they comply with all Model Risk Management Group requirements.
This role will specifically lead the Amex Offers Transformation initiative, a critical strategic priority for 9 international markets, which will encompass researching and implementing an alternative objective function (redemption model), integration of new offer partners, and innovation on ML and DS. We are looking for candidates who have extensive knowledge and practical experience in statistical modeling, machine learning and programming, and who possesses a passion for innovation and data exploration.
Qualifications
Masters/PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Operation Research, Computer Science and etc.) with at least 3+ years of work experience leveraging sophisticated analytical and machine learning techniques to drive business results
Strong relationship building, management and influencing skills
Ability to manage a project, with knowledge of Agile methodologies
Strong quantitative skills with a solid understanding of probability and statistics
Demonstrated ability to frame business problems into mathematical programming problems, leverage external thinking and tools (from academia and/or other industries) to engineer a solvable solution to deliver business insights and optimal control policy
Creativity to go beyond current tools to construct and deliver the best solution to the problem, ability and comfort with working independently and making key decisions on projects
Expertise in an analytical language (Python, R, or the equivalent), and experience with databases (Hive, SQL, or the equivalent). Programming experience in Java/Scala is a plus
Prior experience working with very large datasets using Big Data tools and platforms (Hadoop, Spark, or the equivalent)
Experience working in UNIX/Linux and distributed computing environments
Deep understanding of machine learning/statistical algorithms such as boosting, random forest, KNN and neural network/deep learning. Experience with data visualization a plus
