Merchant Engineering's mission is to simplify commerce by providing a one-stop payment platform for all customer segments.
We are the customer-facing teams within Product and Platform Engineering building the touchpoints that interact with our customers across all stacks (PayPal, Braintree and Hyperwallet), across all channels (online and in-store, web and mobile) for our Merchants.
Within Commerce Solutions and Services, PayPal's Merchant Engineering team is looking for a talented front-end engineer with strong application engineering fundamentals and JavaScript programming experience to design and build solutions supporting our merchant engagement strategy.

Your Way to Impact:
You will be responsible for Developing efficient, elegant, clean, reusable code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction. Should exhibit ownership and Deliver quality solutions on schedule. Will be responsible to create well-articulated, detailed design documents.

Your Day to Day:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions in a Linux/Unix environment, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
• Identify?any?product/functionality?gaps?and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.
• Drive operation excellence.
• Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues.
• Ownership and strive for excellence in your role.

What you need to bring to the role:
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of
• technical education and work experience.
• 9+ years' experience building software or web applications with object oriented or functional programming languages.
• Expert knowledge in React JS fundamentals, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Nodejs and ExpressJs
• Good knowledge of testing frameworks and deployment techniques.
• Deep understanding of and extensive experience applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles.
• Intermediate level understanding of designing and developing data intensive applications, and architecting them for scalability and availability.
• Demonstrated ability to scope, create and successfully deploy new strategy/ initiatives / capabilities.
• Experience?applying software design patterns, data structures, algorithms.
• Strong debugging and problem resolution skills
• Focuses on test driven development and automation.
• Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests,
• Should have good communication skills.
