The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
Design solutions, developing the code free from defects and vulnerabilities, meeting functional and non-functional requirements by following modern engineering practices, reducing rework, continuously addressing technical debt.
Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
Bring agility to application development through DevOps practices
Perform full lifecycle DevOps activities for new and existing observability tools/platforms in an enterprise environment with on-premises and cloud-integrated systems/applications/infrastructure.
In support of Observability Platform proof-of-concepts, pilots, and production implementations: Gather functional/business requirements, establish success criteria, and develop use cases.
Work with Team Lead and/or Project Manager to prioritize efforts and meet deliverable timelines as well as participating in briefing program leadership and liaising with government customers and other stakeholders.
Leverage approved systems for incident/change management (SNOW), work items (Jira), documentation (Confluence), and others.
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ yrs of total experience and at least around 7+ years of relevant experience
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Solid experience in Java/Python/SpringBoot/Microservices/REST API development
Experience with relational databases like SQL Server and Oracle, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
Good to Have - UI technology (Angular)
Hands-on experience with Docker/K8s/OpenShift
Familiarity with observability platform/tools experience.
Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience using observability tools such as logging and metrics for debugging (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/Kibana).
Proficiency in production Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Desirable Expertise or Qualifications:
Expertise in one or more of the following Observability platforms: Prometheus/Grafana, Cisco AppDynamics, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, others.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools for provisioning infrastructure such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
Familiarity with AWS
