This is an opportunity to lead the Technology Enterprise Data Management (the technical implementation of data governance) while heavily influencing a series of Enterprise Technology capabilities (e.g. Big Data, API's, Web , Cloud, AI/ML, Real-Time Event Processing & Analytics, etc.) to support the end-to-end development and execution of Amex's data management strategy, and to drive engineering excellence
Responsibilities
Be a very skilled engineer with experience across programing languages, data integration technologies and data management pipelines.
Partner with business, product, engineering, and data science teams to unlock the power of using data across Amex by translating business requirements/problems to solutions, products, or services.
Partner Enterprise Tech Data Strategy & Architecture team to develop and implement software that meets the technology and business' needs including creating a highly scalable data management pipelines comprising of operational and product data to build a Data fabric foundation for the company
Engineer complex solutions and ensure that they are in alignment with the data architecture principles, standards, strategies, and target states.
Adopting industry leading technologies to support best-in-class business capabilities for high quality computing and data storage solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM fields. Advanced degree preferred.
4+ years full lifecycle product development and engineering leadership in highly available, highly scalable, high throughput systems
·Wide breath of engineering experience as Full Stack Engineer in technologies like Java, J2EE, Spring, JavaScript, Angular, React, Micro Services and more to deliver product capabilities.
·Proficiency in working with Linux commands and scripting and experience in CICD pipeline setup and e2e automation for build, test, and deployment.
·Experience in high-scale or distributed RDBMS and/or knowledge on NoSQL platforms (e.g. PostgreSQL, Big Query).
·Hands-on experience on CICD pipelines, Automated test frameworks, DevOps and source code management will be a big plus (XLR, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Jira, Confluence, Splunk etc.)
·Knowledge of / experience with Docker/Kubernetes and one or more public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
·Good to have experience with any of the Data Management tools (or similar tools): Collibra, Dataguise, Manta, Immuta.
·Experience with following message queuing systems such as apache kafka, solace, redis
·Knowledge of / experienceof public Cloud (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
