WAN Engineer Job Description:
Meet with customers and carriers for technical requirement and design reviews
Partner with carriers to plan and execute changes for new, migrated, or decommissioned connectivity on Global Carrier-Managed MPLS WAN
Perform changes on Global SD-WAN network
Perform changes on core network infrastructure
Perform changes on IPSec Internet VPN platforms
Perform code upgrades and hardware asset refreshes on Network Infrastructure
Potential for performing changes on Load Balancers
Potential to assist on global network design projects
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of experience deploying and supporting medium-to-large scale WAN and LAN networks.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or significant experience
Strong experience and knowledge of Cisco routing and switching platforms. Experience with Arista is a plus.
Strong knowledge of IP and associated protocols such as TCP, UDP, and ICMP.
Working knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
Working knowledge of switching technologies and platform features, such as Spanning Tree, Port Channels, VPC/MLAGs.
General understanding of Security and Encryption concepts such as firewalls, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, and certificates.
High-level or working knowledge of SD-WAN technology.
Strong analytical skills and proven ability in resolving availability issues.
Good documentation skills
Knowledge of languages and tools such as Python and Ansible are a plus.
Experience with F5 load balancers helpful.
Experience with Riverbed WAN Accelerators helpful.
Certifications: CCIE preferred, CCNP/equivalent is must
