About this opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Puppet Ruby Architect and Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby programming, along with experience in system administration, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities:
· Puppet Code Development:Write and maintain Puppet code for automating infrastructure tasks and configurations.
· Module & Manifest Coding:Develop and manage custom Puppet modules and manifests to meet organizational requirements.
· Infrastructure Management:Design and manage Puppet infrastructure to support seamless deployment and configuration.
· Testing & Validation:Use RSpec to test and validate Puppet code, ensuring high quality and reliability.
· Scripting:Leverage Ruby for scripting and extending Puppet functionalities.
· Environment Management:Implement and manage environments using R10k for efficient module deployment.
· Database Management:Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure performance and reliability.
· Version Control:Utilize Gitea for version control and repository management.
· Configuration Management:Use Hiera for hierarchical data management and configuration.
· Infrastructure Provisioning:Manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Foreman.
· Container Orchestration:Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker Swarm and Kubernetes (K8s).
Qualifications:
8 years of experience: 4 years as a Puppet Developer or Puppet Engineer and 4 years of experience as a Linux sys admin
Strong knowledge of Puppet architecture, components, and workflow, including Puppet Server, PuppetDB, and Puppet agent/master communication
Experience with version control systems such as Git for managing Puppet code repositories
Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including infrastructure automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
