Head of Project Controlling - MiningJoin the dedicated Financial Shared Service Center for FLSmidth on a journey to create state of the art global financial transparency in an organization and an industry undergoing fundamental transformation.As a Head of Mining project controlling, you will be a key value driver in project financial transparency and accuracy as well as forecasting. This is absolutely fundamental to the drive financial performance in the Capital business of Mining.The Mining Capital division is a global team responsible for the development, sale, and installation of major equipment for the Mining industry around the world. FLSmidth delivers high-end products with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions throughout the product life cycle.You will come to manage a team of experienced project controllers with both financial and business controlling focus and you will have significant opportunity to define and form the right project controlling team.Your responsibilitiesFinancial Project controllingEnsure that all projects are financially controlled before month end close. No booking mistakes.Backlog reporting: Ensure that all projects are updated with latest delivery forecast from supply chain (system approach with only manual intervention in special cases)Complete "Order Flow" file for each entity reconciled with HFM (same format for all)Create orders: Make sure all requirements are fulfilled for order initiation.Close of projects: Make sure all requirement are met and manage provisionsMonitor use of warranty provisions and report on risk of overspending as well as potential hard close releases.Business Project ControllingMonitor project progress: Review of project ACT against latest FC at cost line level. Adjust FC / contingency in dialogue with PM when neededProvide explanations to Business Partners for largest project deviations in monthSend project update to PM. Meet with PM to review project progress and risk registerFollow up and drive action points from project meetings.Update and Review baseload portfolio dashboard and investigate orders with unexpected movements in the month. Document findings and drive improvement with relevant stakeholdersRolling Forecast: Detailed project review including estimation backlog conversion monthly next 24 months. Including project NWC forecasting. Make sure data is structure for RF upload and reportingPreparation of budget for Mining business unit (i.e. Revenue and Contribution margin)Preparation of revised forecasts for Mining business unit (i.e. Revenue and Contribution margin)Project SteerCo. Meetings: Prepare (standard) material, organize, facilitate and document meetings and actions neededDevelopment and implementation of project controlling toolsDevelopment and implementation of improved project controlling toolsWhat you bringProven experience in project controlling (project controlling experience of 8-10 yearsOverall finance experience of 15+ yearsYou have solid and proven experience as a people managerExcellent English communication skills - both in writing and in speakingYou hold a master's degree in finance, economics, MBA or equivalent.You have a natural high attention to detailsYou will not hesitate to step in and provide help when needed in your teamYou are characterized as a strong analytical hands-on-person and thrive with multiple tasks and challenges at hand.Excellent skills in Excel.
