This position is responsible for performing Controllership activities in support of American Express International, Inc. The position will assist in ensuring integrity of the financial statements, supporting critical business initiatives and providing accounting & reporting decision support. This includes –
Manage month-close accounting and governance activities.
Preparation & review of financial statements, trend analysis and variance analytics.
Interpret critical accounting policies and resolution of accounting and reporting issues.
Support on key organizational initiatives and ensuring change control over financial processes including accounting, reporting and compliance.
Support annual external audit and preparation of key audit documentation.
Support governance process through Committee and Board meetings and help strengthen the legal entity governance framework.
Minimum Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant or equivalent (preferred) with GAAP knowledge and 1-3 years of practical experience in Finance & Accounting
Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, auditors and regulators
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and ability to handle complex situations.
Strong analytical skills, ability to connect business drivers and challenge status-quo.
Exposure to working in a matrix environment.
Proficiency in MS-Office applications, Oracle applications for accounting & reporting (GL, Smartview, OAS, HFM, etc).
