Our Head of Events for Private Cloud manages trade shows and other industry event activities (user conferences, customer events, etc.) from strategy consultation to logistical details. Evaluates, reviews and recommends potential new trade shows and events to align with corporate strategic marketing initiatives. Works directly with Corporate Marketing, Marketing Program Managers/Directors, Business & Support Managers, Product Managers, Sales, Creative, Web team, Corporate Communications, Recruiting and Senior Leadership to facilitate Rackspace's participation and success in industry trade shows and all other external events.
This is a hybrid role that will report to our HQ in San Antonio 2 days a week, we are located on the North Side at 281/Redland Rd.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for all size trade-shows from kiosk booth space up to 30X30+ booth space.
Research trade shows, conferences and industry events to ensure we are attending the most strategic events to enhance Rackspace ROI.
Manages event logistics including but not limited to: researching venues, booking events dates, booking room blocks, meeting space, client dinners, registering Rackers and guests, managing guest lists, etc.
Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedure as directed.
Manages and oversees all logistics and execution for company's involvement with event including designing booths and materials, working with show management, labor unions, city permits, exhibit management company, A/V arrangements, etc.
Acts as a consultant/mentor to departments in planning and executing smaller events and meetings, dinners, happy hours, sales events.
Operates under low supervision.

Requirements
8+ years of corporate event experience.
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in field related to role. At the manager's discretion, additional relevant experience may substitute degree requirement.
30-50% Travel Requirement.
