Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilledESG Subject Matter Expert (SME)with experience in the banking sector. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in ESG-related policies, lead risk and control workshops, and drive policy development and agreement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
ESG Subject Matter Expertise:
Act as the ESG SME, providing insights and guidance on ESG-related topics, particularly within the banking industry. Ensure alignment of policies with ESG regulatory requirements and standards.
Policy Development & Agreement:
Lead the development and agreement of policy requirements in the ESG space, working with cross-functional teams to ensure policies are comprehensive and align with business objectives.
Workshop Leadership for Risk and Control:
Facilitate workshops with 1LoD and 2LoD Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) focused on risk and control topics. Define the problem statement, identify potential solutions, and assess their impact on ESG risks and controls.
Risk/Issue Resolution:
Lead the resolution of complex policy-related issues, particularly in cases of disagreement. Engage with relevant stakeholders to drive consensus on ESG policies and ensure risks are adequately managed.
Proposal Documentation:
Draft detailed proposals to support the escalation of unresolved issues and assist in decision-making by senior management. Ensure documentation is aligned with both ESG standards and risk management frameworks.
Policy Feedback Management:
Manage the process of gathering feedback on ESG policies from various stakeholders, ensuring that feedback is incorporated into the final policy documents and communicated effectively.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Extensive experience in ESG-related policy development within the banking or financial services sector.
Proven track record in managing projects where policy requirements must be agreed upon and developed.
Expertise in leading workshops on risk and control topics, specifically within 1LoD and 2LoD frameworks.
Strong experience in resolving policy-related issues and conflicts.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of ESG standards, regulations, and best practices.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical abilities.
Ability to draft comprehensive proposals and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
