About Global Infrastructure – Enterprise Identity, Integrations & Frameworks (EIIF) SRE and Application Support Portfolio American Express :
Enterprise Identity, Integrations & Frameworks (EIIF) SRE and Application Support consists of middleware products such as IBM DataPower, Messaging (SOLACE & MQ products), APIGEE (API Management suite) and API Gateway (Built on Envoy-Gloo) and EBI (Informatica, Abinitio, Microstrategy, Citrix) , In house and Enterprise Frameworks ( Reliable Transaction Framework, Enterprise Balance and Control, Enterprise Configuration Management, Enterprise Data Vault, Spark, ACE). EIIF team aims to set the bar for these products. It is responsible for developing, innovating, integrating and supporting Servicing, Messaging, Balancing and API services for our application teams.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions to support customer journeys at scale. This role involves collaborating closely with SRE Engineers to build a highly resilient and scalable platform. This role will be critical in optimizing our systems for performance and reliability, enabling the delivery of key frameworks to back CCPs and card members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automating operations, a keen eye for identifying and resolving system bottlenecks, and a dedication to continuous learning in the constantly evolving field of SRE.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design, deploy and maintain highly scalable and reliable platform to support several customer journeys at scale.
Drive initiatives to ensure that the platform which supports customer journeys is highly available, scalable and resilient.
Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational processes, reducing manual intervention and improving system resilience.
Implement / improve end-to-end observability for customer journey components to gain insights into system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Cultivate a highly collaborative, inclusive, strong cohesive and productive team passionate about accomplishing targets in timely manner in line with overall organization strategy and goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of software engineering experience covering full stack solution development and delivery.
Experience with Golang, Java, ReactJS, and Kubernetes
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands on experience with architecture, design and development of applications using technologies such as Java, Go, Messaging middleware such as Kafka, apache camel and virtualization technologies including docker, vagrant, deployment tools such as ansible, puppet and cluster engines including Kubernetes, cattle. Experience in architecting, designing, and leading a team of engineers for full stack application development with a detailed understanding of infrastructure, platform and containers as a service hosting and provisioning capabilities. Experience designing and building distributed architectures with a primary focus on micro services and messaging based architectures.
Experience and knowledge of working in agile practices.
Good understanding and experience working with CI/CD tools and standard methodologies. Experience in designing and implementing CI pipelines for on-demand application stack deployment consisting of multiple services.
Ability to translate business requirements into solutions. Successful track record of delivering quality results in sophisticated multi-functional projects. Ability to influence multi-functional teams, business and vendor partners, and technology leaders.
Ability to stay engaged with constantly evolving container technology trends and use that knowledge to improve resiliency of the platforms.
