As a Software Engineer 3, you will be developing back-end Java applications. You will leverage your technical expertise to build solutions that empower our customers to effortlessly access and manage credit services. Looking for a backend engineer with relevant working experience who will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions through established software development lifecycle framework.

The Team owns a variety of Lending Products like PayPal Working Capital, PayPal Business Loan etc. operating in markets across the world. Your day to day
Own implementation of?a?module/application/product

Develop, test, and deploy robust software solutions using Java in a Linux/Unix environment, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.

Participate in complex architectural discussions that involve multiple systems.

Identify?any?product/functionality?gaps?and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery.

Take care of operation excellence process and guideline. Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues.

Challenge the status quo when needed.

Ownership and strive for excellence in your role.

Mentor and train new team members, sharing your knowledge and experience to help onboard them onto the team quickly and efficiently, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

What do you need to bring
A bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of
technical education and work experience.

5+ years' experience building software or web applications with object oriented or functional programming languages.

Expert knowledge in Java, J2EE, REST

Deep understanding of and extensive experience applying advanced object-oriented design and development principles.

Intermediate level understanding of designing and developing data intensive applications and architecting them for scalability and availability.

Demonstrated ability to scope, create and successfully deploy new strategy/ initiatives / capabilities.

Experience?applying software design patterns, data structures, algorithms.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong debugging and problem resolution skills

Focuses on test driven development and automation.

Experience collaborating with business users to define the key business requirements and translate them into process/technical solutions.

Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests,
preferably in a Java environment using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spring Test.

Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. Java build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.)

Experience to interact with engineering teams from multiple geo-locations.

Should have good communication skills.

Expertise in online payments and related domains is a plus
