Electrical and Power Management System Specialist (f-m-d)

As a member of an international development organization, We are looking for an experienced Electrical and Power Management System Expert to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and power management systems for our projects. This role involves ensuring reliable and efficient power distribution, integrating automation and control systems, and managing complex electrical systems to meet the operational demands of industries such as oil & gas, utilities, petrochemicals, and industrial manufacturing. Will possess strong technical expertise in power systems, protection schemes, and PMS technologies, along with excellent project management and Bids technical support.
This includes engineering contribution in the SE Industrial Process. We're working within an agile process environment to ensure efficiency and flexibility. Effective communication with the international team is a crucial aspect of your role, and your goal is to collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to prepare bid documents, optimize project costs, and support business development efforts. that meets the needs of the SE industry.
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:
Power Management System (PMS) Design and Implementation
• Design and develop power management system architectures, ensuring redundancy, scalability, and efficiency.
• Oversee the selection and integration of power control, monitoring, and protection systems, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and adherence to industry standards.
• Develop and implement PMS algorithms for load shedding, power optimization, and fault management.
• Design electrical power distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and battery backups.
• Conduct load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Prepare electrical single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and specifications for electrical equipment and systems.
• Work closely with the automation and control teams to integrate PMS with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA, and PLCs, enabling real-time monitoring and control.
• Develop and maintain communication protocols for system interfaces, including Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and IEC 61850.
• Lead electrical and PMS project teams, overseeing timelines, budgets, and quality of deliverables.
• Collaborate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct regular project reviews, address any challenges, and adjust plans as needed to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Ensure all electrical systems and PMS designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA).
• Implement and enforce quality assurance practices, including testing, commissioning, and validation of PMS and electrical systems.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and project teams, fostering knowledge-sharing and development.
• Stay current with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in power management and electrical systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a flexible, multi-functional, team-based, development environment that is comprised of both local Siemens Energy Engineers and 3rd party consultants/contractors.
We don't need superheroes, just super minds:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. m
• 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power management systems, power distribution, and automation within industrial sectors.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, Power Factory) and experience with PMS solutions.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE) and familiarity with protection and control schemes.
• Experience with control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and integration protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex electrical and PMS systems and make data-driven recommendations.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
