DDI Infrastructure Engineer (6-month contract)
This is a role in the Core Services infrastructure team, which manages of a global network of DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management (DDI), and timekeeping platforms and services. The team is focused on providing best-of-breed infrastructure platforms and services while minimizing operational overhead through automation and self-service capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) platforms and services
Working with internal teams and users on engineering, automation, and remediation projects
Implementation ofconfiguration-as-code,CI/CD pipelines, and automatedmonitoring/health-checks
Writing management and maintenanceprocesses/procedures,HOWTOs, project requirements, design and architectural documents
Participation in the team's out-of-hours support coverage rotation
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience supporting Bluecat Networks DDI platforms and services in multi-region environments
Deep knowledge of DNS (BIND), DHCP (ISC), and IP Address Management
Experience implementing and supporting Anycast based DNS services
Networking skills (OSI model, switching, routing, VLANs, packet capturing and analysis)
Linux skills (SSH, Shell scripting, scheduled jobs, managing services, troubleshooting, NFS, Docker/Podman containers)
Scripting, automation, and API integration (Ansible, Shell, Python, Javascript, REST, JSON, YAML)
Source control and pipelines (Git, GitHub, GitFlow, Jenkins and scripted pipelines)
Monitoring tools (SNMP, Prometheus, Grafana)
Strong interpersonal skills - desire to help, collaborate, and communicate clearly
Strong desire to continuously learn and improve skills
Desirable skills:
Experience writing, maintaining, and publishing Python modules via automated pipelines
Timekeeping services and platforms (NTP, PTP, GNSS, GPS, FSM/Spectracom/Adva grand master devices)
Cloud environments and tools (GCP DNS/Logging/Compute, AWS Route53/Compute, Terraform)
Domain registration and portfolio management (Network Solutions, Route53, GoDaddy, etc)
Asset, request and project management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA)
ServiceNow self-service forms and automation workflows
Deploying and managing services in Kubernetes
