The Compl AML Core Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, enhance and implement best -in-class AML Compliance policies and practices.
Provide expert advice on AML Compliance policies to the AML/Financial Crime Support teams and the business.
Perform AML Compliance quality and testing, evaluate process deficiencies, analyze control measures, enhance reporting capabilities and recommend corrective actions while satisfying regulatory and audit commitments. Further, assess and identify emerging risks and recommend / drive program enhancements.
Evaluate and respond to escalated matters; further escalate unusual activity as needed. Advise senior management on next steps.
Create, develop and deliver relevant training to business and functional partners.

Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10 plus years relevant experience
AML Certification
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and detail oriented
Advanced analytical skills Ability to both work independently and collaborate with team members
Proficient in Excel and Word – ability to learn multiple system applications quickly
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree. Professional qualification (LLB/CA/CS/MBA) preferred. AML Certification preferred.
Additional Job Description:
Independently managing Regulatory exams / Adhoc regulatory requests /Internal Audit/Compliance Testing Reviews and tracking execution of corrective action plans. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to lead regulatory submission and compliance.
Credibly challenge the management and remediation plans for compliance risk issues arising through various medium including IA, Reg Exams, IBMR, MCA etc. Review or provide insights on respective compliance risk issues with recommended corrective actions to minimize issues and protect the reputation of the franchise.
To manage Regulatory Change and Inventory Management (RCIM) for AML unit. Ensure that all the applicable system requirements including inventory, mapping, overdue etc are timely implemented, escalated, and tracked for completion.
Ensuring timely updation of relevant AML Program and related procedures through end-to-end coordination with concerned stakeholders.
Ensure that Regulatory Transaction Reporting (RTR) filings and reporting requirements are duly complied with.
Managing Country AMLCO Calls, including responsible for periodic updates for relevant Governance forums including BRCC, CCC etc.
Perform In-Business Monitoring Reviews (IBMR) and ensuring periodic updates to IBMR procedures as applicable.
Evaluate and update Country AML Trainings Plan.
Conduct an in-depth review of Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) of AML ARCM and ensure timely completion of MCA testing.
Prepare and manage inventory based on available Cross Border Automation Tool (CBAT) for Country AML
Ensure internal review and reporting of Enterprise-Wide AML Risk Assessment (EWARA) including timely socialization with the concerned stakeholders.
Ensure Issue management for AML India through timely tracking, reporting and closure of open issues.
Managing adhoc Automation Projects as may be required which includes AML Data analytics for various reporting requirements.
Continuously guide, support and mentor the team for achieving highest standard of performance ensuring quality delivery.
