As a Basis Administrator Sr, you will get to:
Position Overview
Provide the highest level of technical expertise and consulting on SAP Basis in the system landscape. Manage the SAP installation and support of all new systems, as well as supporting development teams and technical support for end users. In addition, the Basis Administrator Lead is responsible for scheduling and assigning workload to the Basis team members and providing communication and feedback to the IT executive team.
What you'll do at Insight
Monitoring of system activity including, but not limited to, system update errors, locks, program dumps, abnormal batch job termination. (50%)
Application of transport systems to support new development. (10%).
Troubleshooting and tuning of the production environment. (20%)
Installation of new systems, modules, and support packs (10%)
Work with Basis team members on their technical and project management skills (10%)
Work with development team to identify new technologies and manage the implementation through all levels of the system landscape.
Ability to interact with end users to identify and resolve production issues related to their usage of the system.
This position participates in the on-call rotation to support systems after hours and on weekends
What you'll need to join Insight
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least five years' experience providing Basis support for SAP, with at least three years of support in a business setting.
Support of at least 3 different SAP environments Example: NetWeaver, BW, CRM, etc.
Support of at least 2 SAP production implementations
Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and other employees.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations.
Understanding of the SAP R3, BW and related systems architecture.
Experience with monitoring system operations using CCMS.
Familiarity with 3rd party applications that interface directly with SAP Systems
Familiarity working with Windows desktop operating systems and SAP client applications
Fundamental understanding of Related Security technologies
Introduce and maintain highly repeatable and reliable processes, as well as supporting standards.
Understanding of SDLC and other application development process and procedures
Familiarity with Unix operating systems as related to system installation and operating the SAP environment.
Ability to learn new SAP technologies and concepts as they become available and implement them in the landscape.
Ability to lead group of administrators in managing and implementing Basis projects through the system landscape. Ability to work with development and business groups to plan and execute major production activities
