The team you will be a part of
The Procurement team identifies researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
This role in summary
Lead the Target costing process for New Project Launches of India through WPD process to ensure product is getting launched at the right Cost. This role partners with Cost modeling ,Engineering ,Commodity ,Product management and Suppliers to ensure optimized BOM cost going from the initial Scoping of the project to each Tool gates of New projects
Your responsibilities will include
KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
To work with the global launch teams to understand and achieve product Target costing through Integration events
To prepare and present BOM cost, Cost walk, Cost maturity updates in all project tollgates to make right business decisions
Close interaction with Project Management , Engineering, Cost Modelling , Design, Product Management (Plant Procurement), Commodity and Marketing to get & provide right input at right time in development cycle.
Complete accountability of "Launch on target cost" from Project planning stage to start of Production.
Experience in Cost structure and exposure of components costing, process understanding etc
Basic knowledge of Manufacturing/engineering processes, materials & systems.
Lead workshops on Competition benchmarking and drive results to create VA/VE opportunities for productivity improvements
Identifying and driving cost opportunities within Global Strategic Sourcing, Engineering and Marketing space

Minimum requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
BE / BTech from Reputed Institute
EXPERIENCE/ PREFERRED INDUSTRY
8-12 Yrs
Automobile / White goods / Consumer Durable Industry
With Costing experience & Part development knowledge.
Preferred skills and experiences
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
Experience in project management and BOM control
Have good analytical knowledge on Cost structures and gap mitigation
Drive VA/VE /Cost workshops for creating value opportunities and competition benchmarking
Close coordination with Engineering on Concept costing
Basic knowledge on complete procurement process
Lead Correlation process with process partners and suppliers
Knowledge on manufacturing process and costing methodology
BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES :
Require high caliber presentation skills
Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners.
Project management and organizational skills.
Strong data analytical and critical thinking skills.
