Job Description for Business Development Manager– Residential Buildings  
Organization: - Smart Infrastructure – Electrical Products 
Designation: Senior Manager - Business Development Low Voltage Switchgear -Final Distribution Products

Mission of the function :  
Responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for realizing the Business Unit's vision of enhancing Market Share in the Retail & Residential Buildings Market (RRB) 

Create an eco-system of people, policy and partners to drive the roadmap to support the above mission 

Job profile : 
Develop the strategy for Residential business including defining the market, competition, external and internal factors impacting this market, policy, partners required  

Define the roadmap and milestone for successes including the volume, headcount, partner ramp up over the period of 3-5 years 

Define / develop various policies for Sales, Distributor (pricing, discount, warranty etc.) Promotional activities

Network Expansion: Jointly (along with the Sales team) develop the Distributors / Partner eco system  

Products : Jointly work with PBD teams to introduce new Products to the market including developing launch concepts for various products and markets. Also, from time-to-time give inputs on new products required for the RRB market.

Promotional Activities : Develop and implement promotional plan including having Brand Ambassadors (if required), loyalty programs (e.g. Electrician Loyalty Program), digital marketing campaigns, define promo calendar with budget

Sales : Plan annual sales volume and drive sales of EP Final Distribution Products through the Sales Network

How do I Qualify for this job?  

B.E Electrical  / Electronics engineer and/or MBA with minimum 10+ years experience in handling Electrical Products (e.g. Final Distribution Products, Wiring Accessories etc.) preferably LV Switchgear business from Builders ,Contractor , End Users, Distributors  

Ability to think through and strategize, understand implications of decisions in the short-term and long-term and act accordingly. Ability to conceptualize ideas and draw-up business plans 

Knowledge of LV Switchgear Final Distribution  Market, Key Customers, Competitors, identify major trends. Good understanding of the building segment, Distributor Networks and their psyche. Understand key success factors in Retail and Residential Building market  

Ability to work with multiple stakeholders having conflicting interests (at times) and build consensus. Persuade / Influence stakeholders beyond formal authority 

Should have demonstrated strong planning and execution skills, ability to lead from the front, mentor and coach team members to achieve desired goals
