Functional Description:
There are diverse set of roles within the Product job family, with varying responsibilities and skill requirements. A brief description of the roles and skills is outlined below:
1. Business Insights
The selected candidate for this role will work in the Business Insights Team within CFR Business Unit, which has centralized Bluelight MIS platform that provides easy access to thousands of credit fraud and risk metrics, consumed across CFR Strategy Teams. This role will provide opportunities to lead the team to deliver critical metric and insights to senior CFR leadership.
· Lead end to end Big Data Integration processes for building critical metrics from disparate source systems (including Google Cloud Platform, RDBMS, Hadoop and multi-dimensional cube ecosystems), with 100% accuracy and 100% on time delivery - Deliver strategic insights to key partners using tools like Tableau & Sisense
· Drive automation initiatives within existing processes and fully optimize delivery effort and processing time - Effectively handle relationship with 20+ risk partners across multiple geographies.
· Ability to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) basis business requirements.
· Perform Demos and Launch Announcements with key stakeholders to demonstrate success and metrics of improvement.
· Follow industry best agile practices to deliver on key priorities.
· Finds opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.
· Provides continuous support for ongoing application availability.
2. Operational Risk Capabilities
In this role the candidate will be responsible for developing Data Quality Controls across Risk Models, Strategies and Important Data Source systems leveraging Low Code/No Code framework through Enterprise Data Quality Products. Support end to end development starting with interaction with key stakeholders, requirements grooming, prioritization, development and Launch of the same. In this you'll contribute towards mitigation of Risk related to Data Quality Issues.
· Lead end to end conceptualization and development of Preventive and Detective Data Quality controls and Rules on Hadoop (Cornerstone) and Google Cloud Platform(Lumi) leveraging Low Code/No Code tools such as CDIT, Smart monitoring and Qalibrate ecosystem.
· Drive solving complex business problem statements and curate best in class and Robust Data Quality Controls and strategies by closely collaborating with partners across CFR, Tech, EDDS and Controls Management team
· Leverage Agile for backlog grooming and prioritizations
· Perform Demos and Launch Announcements with key stakeholders to demonstrate success and metrics of improvement.
· Follow industry best agile practices to deliver on key priorities.
· Finds opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.
· Provides continuous support for ongoing application availability
3. Federated Data Office and Data Stewards
Federated Data Office team is responsible for executing or facilitating the execution of Data Risk management and governance requirements as part of American Express Management Policy and other supplemental policies with data-related requirements
The FDOs role in Data Risk management includes, but is not limited to, responsibility for:
· Ensuring compliance with data related policies within their business units.
· Identifying critical data, maintaining data definitions, populating Business Metadata, classifying data, supporting data sourcing / usage requests, measuring Data Risk Metrics, and confirming Data Risk levels are managed.
· Partnering with Business Unit process owners (and/or Operational Excellence teams) to provide subject matter expertise and to provide remediation of Data Risk Issues (including OREs).
· Conducting QA/validation checks, validation of Data Risk levels of all data in their assigned BUs by reviewing data management and risk standards, data requirements and associated rules.
· Performing impact analysis, root cause analysis, and deep dive analysis on identified Data
Data Stewards role includes:
· Responsible for defining data quality controls on external data and ongoing monitoring/ actioning of alerts to ensure timely detection of issues.
· Strengthen data governance – Establishment of access restrictions basis permissible usage, AEMP70 compliance for bureau CDE's
· Ownership of bringing and maintaining only the data required for risk use-cases and offboarding unused external data.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree required; Bachelor's (or comparable experience) in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
· 3+ years of experience in Software Product Management, Business Analysis or Product Ownership.
· Experience managing data publication products such as APIs and events and/or Big Data, Analytics and AI products.
· Experience in Tableau, Power BI Sisense and Microsoft SSIS / SSAS is an added advantage.
· Ability to write and optimize SQL/Hive queries for developing data solutions
· Python / PySpark – Nice to have
· Exposure to GCP will be a plus.
· Strong Problem-solving skills
· Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
· Identify risks, challenges, opportunities, and business integration needs.
· Review existing products and workflows for modernization opportunities.
· Knowledge of Platforms (Only for internal candidates): Cornerstone / LUMI
· Prioritize development of the software product in alignment with business objectives.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Project management skills, ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
· Quick learner and driven to learn new functionality.
